"Heard of a famous dandy at Harrowgate of the name of Stewart, a relative of Lord Castlereagh, who being asked by the Master of Ceremonies to dance enquired of him if the lady he meant to introduce him to was handsome, and being told she was he enquired if she was rich, and being told she had a good fortune asked if she danced well and being answered in the affirmative said, 'Trot her out'. When he came to her he took out his quizzing glass and having eyed the lady some time trough it says to M.C. 'Trot her back again'".
